Path of Exile
The Path of Exile is a shortcut appearing in Ground Floor, Hatchery, and Conservatory, or anywhere in Centurial Trials. In Chapter 1, the door can appear randomly on the first floor of the mentioned areas, and takes you to the next area. It only takes you up to the next floor in Centurial Trials. There are three different levels that can be in the Path: Zardo's Gallery, Fatal Flight, and Soul Crossing.
Zardo's Gallery
Zardo's Gallery is run by Zardo, whose goal is to make sure you don't reach the top of the tower. You have to grab 3 coins scattered across 6 metal blocks in a rectangular formation suspended above lava within 15 seconds for 4 rounds. At the start of each new round, spikes appear on 2 of the blocks at random. At the start of the 3rd round, a beetle spawns on a random block. If you win, you get 3 chests as a reward. If you fail to grab all of the coins in time, the blocks vanish and Zardo comes into the arena.
Fatal Flight
Fatal Flight has very little ground, instead consisting of numerous fans. At the bottom of the level is a bunch of balloons capable of taking you to the door at the top. Touching the fans while they are spinning will kill you, but the fans are harmless if stationary.
Soul Crossing
Inhabited by the ghosts of fallen climbers, Soul Crossing has more sparse ground placement than the normal levels, and the fans are not as plentiful as they are in Fatal Flight. The souls come in from the left and right sides of the screen. If they come into contact with you, they either tear your soul away from your body, or they spare your life. Soul Crossing, like Ruins, has gaps and breaks in the sides of the tower, and you can be struck by lightning if you go outside the tower when it's raining. Furthermore, Zardo has a significantly increased chance of showing up.
Trivia
