Characters
The Tower has a small host of non-playable characters. This is a brief list of the characters climbers may encounter during their adventure.
Witches:
The witch acts as TowerClimb's merchant. She is found at random on different floors of the Tower. There can never be more than one witch on a floor. The witch is obscured in darkness until the player is close enough, but if her silhouette may still be visible against the background to observant players. When approached, the normal level music is silenced in lieu of an eerie theme. This can be used to recognise a witches presence if one hasn't already seen their shadowy figure in the distance.
Witches will brew the player Potions in exchange for Gold Berries. The potions available for purchase are Jump, Corrosion, Teleportation and Revive. Jump and Corrosion potions each sell for one gold berry respectively. Teleport Potions sell for three Gold berries. Lastly revive berries sell for four Gold Berries.
Like most non-enemy NPCs, the witch cannot be interacted with, and is functionally indestructible. When she spawns, a platform will spawn with her such that her space can always be stood in, even if the block is destroyed.
The host of a vicious game show occasionally discovered in the Path of Exile, little is known of Zardo aside from the fact that he is a shadowy form with an impressive collection of failed contestants dangling from the rafters. Some have heard tales that Zardo is a deranged wizard...hence his penchant for cruel and deadly games.
The Crafter:
The Crafter is a handy man that can craft new items by combining two items. This is done by first talking to him and then throwing two items to him, either from a distance or by standing in the same space as him.
When the Crafter has completed crafting his new item, talk to him again and you will be able to purchase a newer and (hopefully) better item for gold berries. Choose what you craft wisely, as he will charge for repeat use of his services!
