The Hookshot is a grappling hook. This hook is quite simple, when thrown on to a surface, the climber will be pulled directly to the location of the hook. A small amount of upwards momentum can be preserved by releasing the hook before reaching the ceiling, just enough to transfer to the side of a block, but not nearly as effective as that which can be obtained with the Elastograp. It is also possible to travel significantly more quickly by rapidly throwing the hookshot against the wall while climbing.
Obtaining
The Hookshot can be found in Red Chests or Crafted.
